So, you’ve worked hard to perfect your novel until it shines. Then you have the good fortune to run into your dream agent in an elevator, and she asks what your book is about. What you do can make the difference between impressing the agent and having them not remember you once you part ways.
This is why writers are encouraged to have a one-sentence hook for your novel. Being prepared for such a scenario is a good idea. Unfortunately, for some of us fiction writers, these type of writing details can be like having a root canal. Condense your 200 page book into one sentence? Impossible?
