Today’s post is by Chris Richards, president of Mile High Scribes.
Members of Mile High Scribes have been and are busy.
Carla Laureano signed with agent Steve Hutson who has her manuscript out to half a dozen publishers for consideration. She is writing a Saturday blog for the ACFW Colorado Inkwell about marketing. On October 7th she will be speaking to the Parker Writer’s group at the Parker Library from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Web Basics for Writers. Everyone is invited to the presentation.
Paulette Harris has a new author website, www.pauletteharris.com.
Sandy Nadeau submitted a proposal to Barbour for a novella which was rejected.
Jeff Kildow had good news in that he has been able to get his intellectual property (his novel, America Under Attack) back from the Chapter 7 bankruptcy of Intermedia. He feels he is lucky because the work they did for him is complete and he has his books, unlike many who paid their money and the work had not been done. He will republish his first book with Kudu Publishing. His second book was rejected by Marcher Lord Publishing and is currently under consideration by Oak Tara. He is working on his third book.
Chris Richards will be taking editor appointments at the Castle Rock Writers Conference on October 13th.
Carla Laureano, Sandy Nadeau, and Elaine Clampitt will be attending the national ACFW Conference.
Our next meeting is October 1st at the Tattered Cover Bookstore in Highlands Ranch with guest speaker Allie Pleiter, author of two parenting books and six novels. She is a national speaker with engagements on faith, women’s issues, and writing.
